Weaver CNJ 50' flat car for M of W use
After the advent of 89' flat cars for piggy back service, some railroads, like the EL i worked for, put the older 50' TOFC flat cars into Maintenance of Way service, after removing the circus ramps and the trailer hitch. With the low side rub rails, they were perfect for moving handling stick rail, frogs, buckets of spikes, etc. I've taken a few of the Weaver TOFC cars we have , and done the same with them. Circus ramps and hitch removed, and rub rails in place, for MW rail and misc service. The rub rails are also removable, if u want to just use as a flat car.
Each car has 2 very small holes in the deck where the hitch was attached, and 2 small holes at each end where the circus ramps attached.
But its a maintenance car, so a few small holes is nothing compared to what these cars looked like in actual maintenance service. They were really beat up after having rail dropped in them for years.
